The Kidscreen brands are an invaluable source for all things children’s entertainment. Parent-company, Brunico first published Kidscreen Magazine in 1996. The magazine features up-to-date news articles on every genre of children’s entertainment. Since Kidscreen Magazine is a global publication, in 2002 they decided to hold an annual summit where all children’s entertainment companies, artists, and broadcasters from all over the world could network, hear prominent key-note speakers, and all-star panel discussions.

On a mission to foster lifelong creative learning through its original preschool programming, Amazon Studios has been striking exactly the right curriculum chord lately. Head of Kids Programming Tara Sorensen—along with some of the studio's key creators and thought leaders—discuss how the company is engendering play, creativity, art and early life skills like learning from mistakes in its content, and more importantly, what it's looking for next.
Founder & Executive Producer
Kelli Bixler is the founder and executive producer of the award-winning Bix Pix Entertainment, a stop-motion animation studio in Los Angeles. After a career producing and directing live-action content in Chicago, she founded Bix Pix in 1998 with the goal of shepherding a diverse group of talented artists to create hand-made characters and worlds.
Kelli is currently the executive producer of Tumble Leaf, a preschool series for Amazon Studios. After 2 seasons, the show has garnered 8 Emmys, 2 Parent’s Choice Gold Awards, 2 Annies and a Special Jury Award from the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
Under Kelli’s leadership, Bix Pix Entertainment has also created content for a bevy of other high profile clients, such as: Disney, NBC, Sony, Hasbro, ABC, Cartoon Network, and Google.
Big Ideas - Original Programming for Preschool
The panel had an informative discussion on Amazon’s creative interests and educational requirements, the educational advisors talking curriculum and Kelli and the other creatives addressing (among other topics) how to entertain/engage in order to educate the preschool audience.
After the panel discussion there was a Q&A session with the packed audience.
